Mr. Nashton was an early source of torment for his son, Edward Nashton. He became increasingly frustrated when his son lacked any interest in his hobby, baseball. After an incident where Mr. Nashton destroyed Edward's puzzle, he became compulsively protective of his creations from male authority figures.
