Julie is a researcher at Gotham University. Her one time partner was Edward Nashton. Together, they had perfected an external bio hard drive for the human mind. Julie wanted to sell the drive to a business but Nashton preferred not to. Despite her romancing him, Julie became impatient and sabotaged the device during a public demonstration. After Nashton left the University, Julie sold the drives to Chuck Gorman. For years, Riddler fixated on Gorman instead of Julie as the object of his revenge. After the Batman clued him in on it, he immediately confronted Julie, who still worked at the University. Riddler attempted to kill her but the Batman intervened and he went to prison with a broken heart.
