Lucius Fox is a brilliant engineer for Wayne Industries and is a member of its Board of Directors. Fox preferred to work on prototypes for environmental procedures, defense projects and consumer products on the front lines of manufacturing plants of WayneTech. Fox was also a good friend of Dr. Thomas Wayne. After his death, Fox used his time to help Alfred Pennyworth raise Bruce Wayne.
Years later, Fox is still working for Wayne Industries, married, and privy to one of the greatest secrets in the world: Batman is Bruce Wayne. Fox went along with Wayne's mission and helped construct the Batcave and some of the Batman's arsenal. It appears that he also taught Wayne everything he knows about technology and electronics, as well.
A couple of years later, Fox was kidnapped and replaced by a robot duplicate who served as an advance agent of the aliens called the Joining. The duplicate Fox authorized the creation of alien alloys in preparation for the coming invasion. The Batman and Martian Manhunter neutralized the duplicate and saved Fox. After a quick recovery, Fox lent his skills to help stop the Joining. From the Batcave, Fox would hack into the system but the Batman would have to as well from WayneTech.
One year after the invasion, Fox completed production of prototype Batbots to serve as a mode of defense against future threats. They are stored under WayneTech in a secret lab. He also gifted Robin with a jet pack.
