Ewan Fripp is an old associate of Alfred Pennyworth. After graduating from school in England, they parted ways. Fripp became a treasure hunter and traveled the world in search of fortune. 36 years later, he arrived in Gotham City in search of the Tudor Royal Diamonds. Fripp tracked the clues to an auction of a rare umbrella and a rare book collection at Wayne Mansion. Through a series of events, Fripp's quest involved Pennyworth, the Batman, Mr. Freeze, and the Penguin. He teamed with the Penguin to find the diamonds but after the ship was dislodged by a sudden inundation of water, they were lost, much to Fripp's delight.
