Donnie is the under-appreciated class clown at Gotham High School. His favorite spitball target is Barbara Gordon. After being awarded a week of detention, Donnie tried to impress a crowd at the Open Mic Night! at Ha-Ha Hacienda. Instead, he cleared the house and met his one fan, the Joker.
After entrusting him to inspire his next scheme, the Joker decided to take on Donnie as his sidekick, Prank. When the gumball rampage failed, the Joker realized that Prank had to go through the same origin as him and proceeded to throw him into a vat of chemicals. The Batman and Batgirl intervened and Donnie delivered the knockout blow to the Joker. He admitted the Joker taught him the best punchline is the one you don't see coming.
