150 years from the present, Eastern European laborers were brought in to build what became modern day Gotham City. Despite the thriving boom, three businessmen (Bolton, Winslow, and Parish) conspired to use the workers' lake home as an illegal dumping ground for industrial waste. Destitute and angry, they used their knowledge of the occult to create Solomon Grundy, a swamp zombie, to hunt down the trio's descendents and get revenge. It is believed Grundy rises on All Hallow's Eve only during a total lunar eclipse. It remains an urban myth.
