Joker Putty is a creation of the Joker for one of his crime sprees. It is capable of giving any object a rubbery attribute upon contact. On its trial run, the Joker bounced away in his van. But his ultimate plan was to remake Gotham's trademark statue in his image. A short time later, when the Batman tried to rescue Ethan Bennett, Bennett inhaled the putty in gas form. As a result, his DNA was mutated and became Clayface.
