Joker Gas is the infamous main weapon of the Joker. Modeled after laughing gas, Joker Gas, when breathed in can cause its victim to suffer from uncontrollable fits of laughter until they undergo paralysis from the strain of chemicals on their immune system. The toxin also contorts its victim's facial muscles into a fiendish grin much like the Joker's. The victim is then unable to move and is essentially a victim in their own body. The Batman managed to concoct an antidote for the Gas.
Eventually, the Joker developed a deadlier strain that he called Joker Venom. It was immune to the antidote and attacks a person's nervous system to induce laughter. Instead of an aerosol, the Venom was directly injected into people that were committing minor crimes like jaywalking. The Joker also later tried to taint Waggie Time Dog Food with the original toxin but he was attacked by Clayface. The only time that the Joker Gas was somewhat a blessing was when the Joker doused Wrath and Scorn with it. They discovered Batman and Robin's secret and planned to reveal it to the public. The Joker's ego wouldn't allow anyone but him to find out the secret and destroy the Bat Family.
