The Electromagnetic Shockwave Generator is a doomsday device that Black Mask planned on using to destroy Gotham City if he wasn't paid by midnight. With Black Mask captured and the only one with the secret firing codes, the Batman searched Gotham for the Generator. However, he was captured and the False Face Society relocated the device the Gotham Police Department headquarters, where Black Mask was being guarded by Batgirl and Robin. The Batman managed to escape and disable the Generator before Black Mask could activate it.
