Waylon Jones suffered a rare skin disorder called epidermolytic hyperjeratosis. Jones' skin appeared green and scaly like a crocodile's. He served as a circus sideshow attraction but left and turned to crime. Jones took the name Killer Croc. However, his origins became obscured over time. He was an ex-military officer turned into a cross-breed soldier, a victim of a voo doo curse, a circus freak, and a super powered mercenary.
Killer Croc infiltrated Gotham Bay and took over a trio of thieves. He planned to use Gotham's overflow pumps to flood the financial district and play to his amphibious strengths. He was interested in legends of the Batman he heard, but went forward without concern. Croc was defeated and lost a tooth, that made its way into the Batcave trophy room. Over the years, he remained in Gotham and continued various water-based crimes. On two occassion, he allied with other super villains and didn't fare any better.
