Galfore is a battle-hardened warrior of the Tamaranians. Among many, he was chosen to be the k'norfka of Koriand'r ("Starfire"), younger daughter of the Grand Ruler. Since Starfire's parents were constantly engaged in state affairs, only a trusted ally would be charged with raising their child in their place. Galfore raised Starfire, treated her with unrivaled kindess, and taught her how to live. He saw much potential in her as a warrior and leader and expected greatness from her someday.
After Starfire returned to Tamaran with the Teen Titans, she was reunited with Galfore. Before her wedding, Galfore bestowed his last lesson to Starfire: to do what is right, what is in your heart. After Blackfire's manipulation was revealed and she was defeated, Empress Starfire stepped down as ruler and crowned Galfore as Emperor to which he accepted. He also quietly realized that Starfire had feelings for Robin.
