The Robot Commandos are the personal army of Slade. Their design bears a heavy resemblence to Slade and they follow his every order with deadly accuracy. They are armed with laser pistols, exploding gas balls, and rocket boots. Even when torn in half, the upper half of the body can still function, albeit in a diminished capacity. And on occassion, they will self-detonate to destroy their enemy. Slade also built several commandos to act as his doubles. It also appears that he controls them through a sophisticated neural interface. However, it appears that Slade longed to command other people in his army rather than robots and long sought to incorporate teeenage super heroes and metahumans into his company.
The iconic mask of one of his doubles contained a chemical reagent. It was confiscated by the Teen Titans but after an unknown person activated the mask, the reagent infected Robin and nearly killed him. Some time later, after the Teen Titans returned to Jump City from fighting the Brotherhood of Evil, Beast Boy was reunited with Terra. However, she refused to acknowledge her former life. While investigating at the Hall of Mirrors, he encountered a Slade robot who repeatedly ordered him to leave Terra alone before Beast Boy destroyed it.
