In his bid to become a full fledged super villain, Professor Chang constructed a Disintegrator Cannon. With it strategically stationed in an observatory above Jump City, Chang would try to take over the city. However, it required an almost infinite power source. An opportunity arose when Robin arrived and interrogated him about the location of Zynothium. Chang realized the Zynothium reserve would power his cannon and he dispatched his men to steal it. During the fight, the cannon grazed the roof of Titans Tower. The Teen Titans and Red X ultimately sabotaged the cannon.
