Val-Yor is a great warrior hailing from the planet Vernathia. His acclaim was due in part to the incursion of the Locrix, a race of destroyers. After preventing an invasion of his home planet, Val-Yor fought the Locrix across the galaxy. He finally got a Class 5 Quantum Eradicator in his possession and planned to enter the Locrix homeworld, Sentien, and end their threat once and for all. In flight, he was attacked by two scouts and detoured onto Earth, a place with a positive reputation, where he met the Teen Titans. The Titans looked up to Val-Yor, however his prejudice against Tamaranians soon surfaced. Undaunted, Starfire set out to help defeat the Locrix. Even after Starfire saved his life, Val-Yor was still influenced by his prior beliefs and was swiftly asked to leave Earth.
