Isaiah Crockett is a gifted young individual. After graduating high school at a year early, Crockett manifested the power to generate fire and became a superhero rather than go on to college. As Hotspot, he patrolled the Middle East and easily captured regular villains. However, things got weird when he and several heroes were transported to an alternate dimension by the Master of Games. Hotspot fought against Robin the the Tournament of Heroes First Round. He lost after being doused in retardant released from Robin's electric disks. Hotspot and the other losers were absorbed into a gem worn by the Master but were freed after Robin, Cyborg, and Speedy defeated him. After the smoke cleared, Robin and Cyborg awarded a Titans Communicator to everyone except Gizmo.
Hotspot returned to the Middle East and continued to operate solo. Years later, after capturing a thief in Morocco, Hotspot was attacked by Madame Rouge. When a direct assault failed, Rouge morphed into Robin and messed with Hotspot's mind. However, Hotspot feigned defeat to learn Rouge's intentions. He immediately awoke and destroyed his Communicator and proceeded to defeat her. But Robin's arrival only complicated matters. In his final stand, Hotspot unleashed a burst of fire and collapsed. Rouge emerged from the rubble as Hotspot and took Robin's communicator. Meanwhile, Hotspot was brought to Paris and cyrogenically frozen by Professor Chang. Some time later, Hotpost was thawed out with the other Titans captured and joined in the final battle against the Brotherhood of Evil.
