The Space Monster, due to its ability to survive in space, was most likely originated from the Vega star system as well. It, a Locrix, and Starfire were captured by a group of Gordanians led by Lord Trogaar. The prisoners were intended to be tribute offered to the Gordanians' masters, the Citadel. However, Starfire broke free of her restraints and fled to a nearby planet, Earth.
In the scuffle, it appears the Space Monster also broke free and found itself on an orbiting unmanned space station. Years later, it damaged the bi-furcating dilator and caused the station's communication relays to go offline. This caught the attention of the Teen Titans and they investigated personally. In the battle, they were forced to escape and were stranded on an alien planet. The monster survived re-entry and stalked Robin and Starfire. After binding its mouth with one of Robin's more obscure electric disks, the monster was forced into a deep chasm where it disappeared for good.
