After constructing an undersea fortress 50 miles offshore of Jump City, Brother Blood captured several sea animals including a giant squid and piranha. He outfitted them with technology stolen from Cyborg's blueprints and put them under his control. Aqualad tried to storm the fortress alone and was defeated upon learning his telepathy was ineffectual on the animals. On a second encounter, the squid destroyed the T-Sub but Beast Boy saved the Titans by transforming into a whale and placing them in his mouth. It is assumed that the sea animals were killed during the fortress' implosion.
