The outskirts of Jump City are a vast uninhabited desert. When Terra was camping in some nearby caverns, she caught the attention of a giant scorpion. She was chased for some time but lured it into a trap. Terra used her powers to kill it with several boulders. However, it is also possible that the scorpion was purposely agitated by Slade and Terra to catch the Teen Titans' attention and make them interested in the girl.
