After the Teen Titans defeated Control Freak at Cook's Electronics, Beast Boy rented a copy of the horror movie, Wicked Scary. The premise revolved around a haunted movie that killed people who watched it. Everyonr admitted to being frightened by it except Raven. Raven suppressed her fear to the point at which it manifested as a separate being.
Beast Boy believed the movie was real and they opened a portal to another dimension and released the monster. Robin theorized Control Freak escaped and infiltrated their Tower to exact revenge. Inititally, Raven's powers were ineffective against it. The monster kidnapped each Titan one by one until Raven was left. She finally admitted she was afraid and drew the power to absorb the monster and save everyone.
