1000 years ago, Malchior was a dragon that terrorized the nation of Nol. Their hero was a wizard named Rorek, confronted him and summoned the forces of an enchanted novel to bind and seal Malchior. Rorek recited the curse, "Aldruon enlenthra nalthos sola narisnor!" Malchior discovered he was powerless to escape and could only speak to those that read the book. A millennium passed and the book came into the possession of the Teen Titan, Raven. He manipulated and made Raven believe he was the heroic wizard due to her underlying lonliness. Under her notice, Malchior taught her 6000 pages of dark magic in the form of spells, charms, and incantations from the Galyan Scrolls, the Mornal Archives, Stones of Sur, Book of Nord, Endrial Verses, the Romanomicon and the Bersian Chronicle.
After a week, Raven gave her hair as a crucial element and recited a way to free him, "Hezbarek etmorane gost wenthen verbis nex in obrium bispendrule paran sic cortus rex!" Malchior was freed and showed his true form as a dragon. Raven confronted him with the enchanted book and resealed him. Years later, Malchior managed to escape again and was recruited to the Brotherhood of Evil. However, in the final battle between the Brotherhood and the Teen Titans, Malchior and the other villains were cryogenically frozen by Mas y Menos, who commandeered Professor Chang's technology.
