Drury Walker, while in prison with an identification number 234026, read an article about Batman. Walker decided to reverse his unsuccessful criminal career by becoming the antithesis of Batman, a Killer Moth. After being released from prison, Walker used his stolen funds to construct a Mothcave and Mothmobile based on alleged photos of the Batcave and Batmobile. With his remaining funds, he created an alias and back-story; Cameron van Cleer, millionaire philanthropist.

Walker settled down in Jump City and started a family. He revealed his secret identity as Killer Moth to his daughter Kitten. As evil as Moth was as a villain, he was also a bad parent and Kitten became a spoiled brat. Over a period of time, Moth concocted a plan to take over Jump with his army of moth monsters. He routinely cared for the larvaea in his home's basement lab. His plan was expanded when Kitten demanded he help her get a new date for her upcoming prom. Upon issuing his demand to the Teen Titans, Moth also added Robin must take Kitten to the event. Cyborg, Beast Boy, and Raven tracked down Kitten's home address and confronted Moth. He, Kitten, and her boyfriend, Fang, were taken to prison.

After getting out of prison, Moth tracked down Larva M-319, now named Silkie, and mutated it into a giant moth. He then upstaged Johnny Rancid's rampage through Jump City. However, Starfire attempted to appeal to Silkie and it worked. Moth and Rancid were taken into custody.

Over a year later, Killer Moth was recruited to join the Brotherhood of Evil. When they initiated the final phase of their plan to destroy the Teen Titans, he and Kitten were sent to capture Starfire while she was en route to help Argent escape General Immortus. Moth and Kitten smothered Starfire with a new army of moths but returned to the Paris base without a body and fought in the final battle only to be cryogenically frozen in the aftermath.
