Kardiak is an odd sentient being that resembles a heart with tentacles. Its origins are unknown but its modus operandi is constant, Kardiak locates children and tries to eat them. Children are sucked into its tentacles and are delegated to the inside of its core to await a slow digestion. In recent times, Kardiak appeared in Jump City and was quickly dismantled by Raven. However, it reassembled itself in a sewer drain and resumed its attack on children.
Over a year later, Kardiak was recruited to join the Brotherhood of Evil. When they initiated the final phase of their plan to destroy the Teen Titans, Kardiak was dispatched to capture Beast Boy, who was en route to assist heroes in trouble. Beast Boy defeated Kardiak and detoured to a secret outpost and put together a squad of survivors. Kardiak returned to the Brotherhood's Paris base and took part in the final battle. It ended up like the other villains, cryogenically frozen.
