The Drenthax is an alien race bent on conquest. They appear to be insect like and their space armada even resembles Earth's grasshoppers. With at least four planets in their possession, the Drenthax are a formidable foe. Upon becoming Grand Ruler of Tamaran, Blackfire made a secret deal with one of Drenthax' sklerchs, Glyrdsklechhh. In exchange for her sister, Blackfire would receive the rare Jewel of Charta.
He then settled an automated space fleet on Tamaran. As part of a peace treaty, Blackfire agreed to marry off Starfire to Glyrdsklechhh. Luckily, the Teen Titans discovered the truth and Starfire challenged and defeated Blackfire for the crown.
