Annoyed by their distraction attempt, Trigon cast a spell that turned Beast Boy, Cyborg, and Starfire's darkest aspects and formed evil doppelgangers. They were equal matches for their respective selves and taunted them with their fears and nightmares. However, Cyborg figured out they could easily defeat each other's halves. After switching partners, the Demon versions were defeated and absorbed back into the Titan's souls.
