Atlas is an evil robot that suffers from arrogance. He considers himself superior to humans and refuses to lose to anyone. However, unlike Cyborg, Atlas doesn't know how to maintain himself and relies on a human mechanic, Spike. Out of fear of abandonment, he exploits this relationship by verbally abusing Spike on a routine basis. Atlas's arms can be detached and replaced with other weapons such as a Concussion Blaster or Heat Cannon. Together, they resided in an old stadium in Jump City. Atlas appears to seek out worthy opponents through online Gamestation video games.
Atlas lost an online duel to Cyborg. Enraged and demanding a rematch, Atlas personally broke into the Titans Tower and fought Cyborg. He took the rest of the Titans hostage for trophies and issued Cyborg a one-on-one challenge. In the final showdown, Cyborg exceeded his pre-set limit of 100% strength and defeated Atlas with a reading of 130%. The Titans also convinced Spike to leave Atlas.
Years later, he was recruited to join the Brotherhood of Evil. Atlas and Adonis were sent to capture Pantha but both were defeated. They returned to the Brotherhood's Paris hideout and Atlas was one of many cryogenically frozen in the final showdown against the Titans.
