An unknown criminal suffers from vanity but he is far from human perfection. Donning a foreboding suit of armor, he became Adonis and committed theft and terrorized citizens of Jump City. He encountered the Teen Titans while breaking into a testing facility. In the skirmish, Beast Boy and Adonis were doused with chemicals and electrocuted. Both transformed into a primal beast. Adonis tracked the Titans back to their Tower and attacked Raven. Beast Boy saved her and defeated Adonis. Cyborg synthesized an antidote and cured both of them.
After upgrading his armor, Adonis appeared at a beach to show off. At the same time, Cyborg upgraded himself with a Maximum 7 processor and easily defeated Adonis. Some time later, he was recruited to join the Brotherhood of Evil. Aside from Brotherhood activity, he joined in a one-in-a-lifetime chance to win a prized possession of Robin's: a race initiated by Ding Dong Daddy. Adonis arrived in an expensive and flashy looking car but crashed before passing the finish line.
When the Brotherhood began the final phase of their plan to destroy the Titans, Adonis was dispatched to capture Pantha. However, he was defeated and Pantha journeyed to the secret Titans outpost. Adonis returned to the Brotherhood's Paris hideout and was one of many cryogenically frozen.
