Robin, Raven, Beast Boy, and Cyborg decided to settle who was the dumbest Teen Titan by doing a thumb war. However, Starfire halted them at the last second warned them the thumb war was the road to doom. They didn't see it as seriously as her. Robin thought thumbs were the least important of all extremities connected to the hand. Beast Boy joked they were all short, stubby, and hairy in weird places like Robin. Starfire thought they were the smartest part of the human body, the dolphins of the hand, and the opposable thumb separated them from the animals. She believed that given the chance, thumbs would oppose them. Raven pointed out thumb wars were just a game. They voted to ignore Starfire. Raven dressed her thumb based on Rocky, Cyborg's was based on Terminator, Beast Boy's was based on Hulk, and Robin's was based on his Lil' Dimple guise. Robin believed he had a sleeper because no one would suspect a cute little baby of being a fierce warrior. Starfire begged them to choose peace and extended an olive branch.
Robin interpreted it as they needed to train their thumbs to be bloodthirsty warriors first. Cyborg's thumb did bench presses, Raven's battled a speed bag which was really a tea bag, Beast Boy's smashed food, and Robin's performed karate against a dummy. Once the thumb war was near, a giant boxing ring dropped from the ceiling of the Titans Tower. Starfire and her Swiss thumb again proposed peace but also presented Swiss cheese. They rejected peace and the cheese and they declared thumb war. Raven and Beast Boy won their matches. Starfire made another plea but she was ignored. To the Titans' surprise, their thumbs animated and yelled. They also rejected the offer of peace and cheese from Starfire. The other Titans declared war on their own thumbs. A few moments later, the Titans Tower was destroyed and the thumbs terrorized the Titans. The war had gotten to the Titans' minds and they were paranoid about being sneaked up on. The thumbs arrived in helicopters and opened fire. The Titans retreated.
Starfire and Swiss Thumb appeared but the Thumbs declared she had no leverage. She countered with an offer of being free from the hands so they could live their lives as scholars of the sea. They were intrigued. Starfire stipulated they had to cease fire and sign her peace treaty. The Thumbs agreed to her terms. Raven cast a spell that made the thumbs independent entities. They flopped off the island's cliff like fish and departed into the sea. Starfire thanked Swiss Thumb and credited her wisdom for ending the war. Swiss Thumb admitted she would miss Starfire. After a goodbye smooch, Swiss Thumb also jumped into the sea.
