Raven, Cyborg, Beast Boy, and Starfire thought up a super cool imaginary friend named Captain Cool, a cool guy with great hair and a mustache, cool shades, a cool belt buckle, what looks like an airplane pilot uniform, and an overall cool, nonchalant persona. Robin tried to show off on his motorcycle by the pool but lost control and landed on a beach chair. The others were horrified because Cool was on that chair. Starfire felt a faint pulse and tried CPR but it didn't work. Beast Boy used an imaginary defibrillator. Cyborg picked him up and slapped him around. He started to come to. Robin thought they were being ridiculous. Cool told Starfire he forgave Robin and wished to be his friend, too. The others were impressed with how cool he was about it. Robin refused the offer and called him stupid to their shock. Robin warned them not to get too wrapped up in their imaginations because they could be very powerful things. They ignored Robin because Cool played a sweet deejay set and danced to it. Robin got annoyed and went to his room.

Cool suggested the Krock-topus, a combo crocodile-octopus monster that lived in lava. They ran down Robin's bedroom door while he was organizing his comb collection then Cyborg put the piece back up and the Titans pressed against it to stop the Krock-topus. Robin refused to help so Cool handed the braces out. The Titans hammered them into the wall but the Krock-topus was too strong and made its way in and ate everyone. Starfire turned off the light to simulate them being digested in the monster's belly. Robin left to look for more combs. After he returned to the tower, Raven suddenly told him not to step on the floor. He quickly fired his grappling gun and landed face first on the couch. He was annoyed to learn they were pretending the floor was covered with lava. Raven revealed it was Cool's idea to pretend they had no superpowers so the game would be more exciting. Cool told Cyborg they should use Robin's grappling gun to save Beast Boy. Cyborg put Robin under his arm and the girls clung to his back. Cyborg fired at the TV and reeled them to it.

They all plowed through the wall into the kitchen and landed on Robin. Cyborg told Robin that Cool was sorry the grappling gun was broken and promised to buy him a new one. Robin didn't care and went to get a snack. Raven warned Robin not to open the refrigerator because it was filled with Lava Bats. He went to get crackers but Starfire popped out of a drawer and warned they were in the cupboards, too. Robin got so annoyed he tied them up in imaginary rope. Cyborg used imaginary scissors. Robin used an imaginary force field. Raven countered with imaginary dynamite. Robin got out imaginary laser nunchuks and fought Raven who had an imaginary laser whip and Beast Boy who had an imaginary slick plasma sword. Robin pretended to give up then tossed an imaginary grenade. To their surprise, a real grenade manifested out of thin air. They got so wrapped up in their imaginations, the Teen Titans brought Captain Cool, the monsters, weapons, and lava they imagined. Cool caught the grenade and tossed it aside, unfazed.

Robin was startled by a purple cobra fired from Starfire's robot suit and jumped into Cool's arms. Cool dropped him and easily tamed the scared cobra. It willingly came onto his arm. Robin realized everything would come to life. Lava Bats and lava out of the refrigerator and the cupboards. From atop the dinner table, Raven tried to open a portal but nothing happened. Robin reminded them they imagined themselves without super powers to make the game more exciting. Captain Cool told them to be cool and threw his belt buckle like a boomerang and took out the bats. They fell into the lava. The wall crumbled and revealed the living room was not a massive lava filled dungeon. Raven cursed their big imaginations. Cool was undaunted and told them they just had to make it to the elevator. They jumped to the TV stand, some ceiling debris, and landed on the couch.

Cool used the couch cushions as stepping stones and threw them out. He went first, used his powers to speed up the cushion and tossed his mustache as a boomerang to hit the up button. After he landed on his couch cushion stepping stone, he revealed his real name was Herbert. The Krock-topus rose up from below and swallowed him whole then charged the Titans. They jumped from the couch just in time as the Krock-topus chomped down. They ended up on the TV stand and had no where else to go. The Krock-topus charged but paused as its stomach rumbled. Cool performed a spin kick and destroyed the monster from within. They jumped on its remains to the elevator. Outside the tower, Robin apologized to Cool. Cool told him to forget about it. They all heard a woman's angry voice call out to Herbert. He revealed that was his mom, to their shock. Herbert was in his role imagining he was on an adventure with the Titans. His mom yelled out to him to stop playing with his imaginary friends and come down to dinner.
