The Public Domain is famous for being a lawless place where there is no control and books are allowed to live free 70 years after their author dies and they were released into the public domain. Visually, it resembles an island paradise. For decades Hollywood dispatched the Hollywood Machine to the Public Domain to mine for ideas to turn into remakes. Hidden behind a cloud, the Machine was essentially controlling the famed lawless realm by periodically appearing and siphoning up books in public domain. To the books, it was their chance to make it back into the limelight. However, Hollywood kept warping them into terrible remakes. The tired and used up books were then secretly dumped into a bog in a jungle in the Public Domain. The remaining books heard terrifying groans and refused to venture into the jungle, unaware the groans were from their fellow books. For some reason, a door to the Public Domain was located next to the public restroom at the Azarath Metrion Bookstore. Nana, Trigon, Raven, Hank, and Cat explored the realm and saw many books relaxing, playing, dancing, drinking, and otherwise having a good time.
They were greeted by Winnie-The-Pooh Book. They were delighted to meet Winnie. Winnie pointed out others like Cinderella, King Arthur, Mother Goose, Rapunzel, and Moby Dick. Nana saw her favorite book Pinocchio. Pinocchio stole Trigon's wristwatch but denied it and his nose kept growing longer and longer the more he did. He claimed it was for a limbo party. Raven, Cat, and Hank indulged him and performed the limbo. Trigon had enough but soon realized his magic didn't work since no on could control books in the Public Domain. Trigon was eager to leave but Raven pointed out they could do things without any repercussions, too. Trigon perked up and beat up the Pinocchio book. Nana was aghast but Pinocchio was happy to be pummeled like a real boy. Winnie cartwheeled over him and told them about the ongoing game of three-on-three volleyball and Dante's Inferno making a barbecue. He warned them against going in the jungle. They watched as the Hollywood Machine selected books like Treasure Island and Little Women. Winnie-The-Pooh Book was sad he wasn't chosen and guessed he didn't resonate with the modern audiences anymore but he was chosen next.
However, he got stuck at the opening of the pipeline. They shoved him through but they got pulled in. They were returned to the Public Domain by the Hollywood Machine and deposited into the ominous jungle. In order to stop the Hollywood Machine from warping the stories of any more books in the Public Domain, Nana had Trigon, Raven, Hank, Cat, and the Winnie-The-Pooh Book join hands and form a circle to think up an original idea for a movie or television series. They strained to come up with one. Hank stipulated it had to be an original story. Cat added it had to be an original character. Raven added it had to be an original voice. Trigon admitted this was taking some effort and mused that was why Hollywood didn't to it. Nana told everyone to think as hard as they could. There was a golden flash and an original idea was born. It looked like a horrendous creation but Hank found it beautiful. Cat grabbed it but tripped over Pinocchio. Raven spiked it but the Original Idea bounced off the Machine's pipeline. Winnie-The-Pooh Book caught it. Trigon grabbed him, spun him around, and threw him.
Winnie dunked the Original Idea. It worked and the Hollywood Machine didn't know what to do with it. A chain reaction was set off and the pipeline exploded in sections. Everyone ushered the remaining books through the door back to the Azarath Metrion Bookstore. Winnie barely made it through as the Hollywood Machine exploded.
