New York was the next stop on Beast Boy's Love Rae Tour after Jump City, Las Vegas, Austin, and Miami. Security wouldn't let Raven into Beast Boy's dressing room. She started to get angry. Vibe used his superpowers to teleport himself and Robin back in time to 1980 in New York City with his Boombox Time Machine. They winded up in the "Boogie Down Bronx" so Robin could learn breakdancing from pioneers in the dance form like Benny Bow, Mr. Low Tide, Cold Chillin', Jimmy Rock, Lil' Sid, and D Smooth. Once Robin resolved to practice, Vibe used his powers and Robin found himself in a red tracksuit. Despite it being a lower price in the 80s, Robin fumed about having to spend $50 on a refrigerator just to get a big cardboard box. At first, parts of Robin's body would work and sometimes then run over by a taxi cab. After six years, Robin had mastered breakdancing in 1985. They returned to the present where the other Titans agreed to form one dance crew for the final round of the Justice League's Next Top Talent Idol Star: Dance Crew Edition. The one condition was they, too, got to learn some moves. Vibe teleported them all to 80s New York for an indeterminate amount of time.

In Flushing Queens in 1980, Marv Wolfman and George Perez could not come up with pitch for a new Teen Titans comics. With less than 24 hours before the deadline, Wolfman came up with an idea to reinvent them as super muscular, super ripped, and super tight talking hands, the Teen Tight-Hands who lived deep underground and worked on their muscles. The Jump City Bridge was in trouble. Wolfman considered their arch-enemy to be Atomic Toe then Mr. Frostbite then settled on The Clipper and his nail clipper robots, Clippertrons. The Tight-Hands flew to the bridge in their Flying Valhands and made short work of the Clippertrons. Cyhand slammed Clipper and got him in his tight grip. Perez thought that was the worst idea anyone ever had. They relocated to their favorite diner for a pitstop. Wolfman insisted bad ideas were part of the creative process, digging through dirt to get to the gold.

Perez put pitstop and reinventing the wheel and came up with a 60s themed version of the Teen Titans as a superhero Formula One pit crew. They were slave to getting a 1.81 second pit time, often to the detriment of the cars they worked on. Robin got an alert and they responded to a robbery at the National Bank. Robin jacked the bank up until the robbers slid out then Beast Boy used a fire extinguisher on them. They were loaded into a paddywagon which they did a pitstop on then it soon crashed. They surrounded a purse snatcher but instead did a pit stop on the elderly woman. The criminal walked away. They then prepared a sandwich for Batman who forgot his lunch. Perez was crestfallen at all the bad ideas they were coming up with. Wolfman believed they still had time to come up with something, even if it meant an all-nighter. Perez didn't know if his body could take it. Wolfman insisted he had a super body. Perez got an idea to set the Titans as a group of organs inside Superman's body but after a harrowing battle with Doomsday, they were annoyed at not getting credit so they emptied his bladder in front of his adoring fans. They turned on him and Superman wept with embarrassment.

Perez threw the idea away. Wolfman declared it was over. Perez checked his back pocket for anything. He found a drawing of Teen Titans on unused toilet paper. Wolfman took a look and mused they could get a six issue run. They set off to the pitch. Perez laughed at his dumb idea for a pit crew. Suddenly, the Pit Crew Titans crashed through their roof. Wolfman and Perez chased them away with brooms. Wolfman threw down his in anger.
