Silkie once made a brief trip to Mexico when Starfire was out of Jump City. While relaxing on the shore, Silkie met a woman named Sonia who instantly fell in love with him. They spent much time together until Carlos sighted them in a night club. He had his men take Silkie and Sonia to his private jail but Silkie escaped and saved the day. After a heartfelt good bye, Silkie rode the ocean currents back to Jump City.
