As part of a plan to get the Teen Titans to visit overlooked places around the world, Albert Jelenic made up a story about an evil longshoreman named Carl Sanpedro who stole his recipe book so he could steal the world's greatest dishes. After relishing in getting to say "gumshoe" over and over, Jelenic told the Titans about a Carl Sanpedro sighting but made them guess first. Beast Boy hoped it was New York City but Jelenic shot him down. Raven guessed Paris. Jelenic answered the same. Starfire guessed the pyramids of Egypt. Jelenic answered the same. Robin demanded he just them them. Jelenic complied and told them he was spotted in Jamaica. The Titans were stoked but Robin ruined it by declaring it would be an educational trip. Robin set a 36 hour time limit to capture Carl, per Gumshoe 101 rules, and made them beat box a cappella with him and they set off for Montego Bay, the second largest city in Jamaica. Carl Sanpedro stole Brian E.S. Jones's famous oxtail stew.

After an eight hour trip, the Titans arrived in Montego Bay. Robin read off some facts to the others, including its major industry was telemarketing. Cyborg spotted one of Sanpedro's henchmen sneaking around. All but Robin charged and attacked. Beast Boy turned into a gorilla, repeatedly punched him, and tossed him. Cyborg fired multiple missiles at him. Raven conjured a giant hand, grabbed the henchman, threw him into the side of a building, punched him, and let him drop. Starfire tackled him into the street below. She charged her hands and threatened him. Robin called them off then helped the henchman up. He slinked away. The others were shocked at Robin's behavior. Robin told them the henchman's singular purpose was to inform them that Sanpedro was in the area. Adhering to Gumshoe 101, Robin gave them the choice of investigating further at a local museum, port, or hotel. After some silence, Cyborg capitulated and chose the museum.

After two hours, they learned from the curator that Sanpedro's favorite painter was Vincent van Gogh. The Titans were livid. Starfire ripped a painting in half and Beast Boy pushed a bust off a stand. Robin insisted it would help them get a warrant. Raven pointed out they could establish probable cause and get one from a judge. Robin disagreed and stated they needed to know the suspect's personal interests in order to properly identify him or they would arrest the wrong person. Raven sarcastically volunteered to keep detailed notes. Cyborg pointed out it didn't matter where they went next. Robin chose the port. After four hours, all they learned from a parrot was that mountain climbing was Sanpedro's favorite hobby. Beast Boy turned into cat and chased the parrot away. Raven didn't hear anything and spent her time feeding pigeons. Albert Jelenic arrived in a taxi cab just to call them gumshoes again then left. They headed to the hotel. A bellhop told them Sanpedro said he was going to the birthplace of reggae music.

Cyborg was ready to check the Internet but Robin jammed his laptop back in his chest and turned incredibly hostile all of a sudden. He stated using the Internet was cheating. He strained to pull a wagon loaded with the Gumshoe Almanac to them. After five hours, Robin figured out the birth of reggae music took place in Trench Town. They arrived three hours later and saw a henchman playing a guitar for tips at a fountain. Robin wanted to leave him alone and learn about the city. The others disregarded him and viciously attacked the henchman. Starfire tackled him into a house and let loose with her starbolts then blasted him outside. Raven conjured a hand and smashed him into the street. Cyborg blasted him with his arm cannons then tackled him through the street. The others followed down the hole and helped beat the henchman up. Robin objected because it wasn't the way of the gumshoe. Cyborg agreed their way was better. Raven eventually lifted him out of the hole and demanded to know where Sanpedro was. He weakly brought out a brochure for Dunn's River Falls. Cyborg punched him out and they tried to take off. Robin reminded them to beatbox. They sighed and complied.

11 hours later, they arrived. Robin wanted to share some facts about the falls but time was running out. Starfire spotted Sanpedro in some bushes. They attacked but it was just a pineapple dressed as Sanpedro. The real Sanpedro threw spears at them then led them on a chase. They ran right into bear traps. After a spear pierced a shoulder, Cyborg cried he didn't want to be a gumshoe. Robin suggested they chase him back and forth, from left to right about three times. It inexplicably worked and they beat up Sanpedro. Cyborg secured the stolen stew. Two police officers arrived and asked they had the necessary warrant. Cyborg pointed out they had the evidence and showed them the stew. An officer stated that wasn't enough and told them to enter the suspect's personal interests into the computer. Robin signaled Raven to get out her file. She pointed out she was being sarcastic and didn't record anything. Cyborg tried to guess the right answers but the ended up with a warrant for Mr. Jay Walking. The officers released Sanpedro.

Albert Jelenic came out of some bushes and told them Sanpedro struck again. Cyborg hoped for Machu Pichu, Starfire thought about the Great Wall of China, and Beast Boy thought of the Leaning Tower of Pisa but Jelenic shot down all three and kept calling them gumshoes then did some ballet and played calypso music. The Titans refused to guess the next location so Jelenic guessed for them: Slovakia and Montana then bopped Robin with his own staff. He finally revealed they were going to Chennai, India. The Titans could only think of Bollywood but Robin tried to explain Chennai had nothing to do with Bollywood and was famous for its cricket team. They learned Sanpedro stole Chennai's cricket team's lucky chana masala from the T. Nagar shopping district and left in the T-Jet.
