The Teen Titans took a trip to Boston to have clam chowder. A bowl of chowder thrown up in the air spilled on the Freedom Trail and accidentally opened a secret passage to the Boston Catacombs. Raven translated the ancient Bostonian and learned the legendary First Bowl of Chowda lay at the end of the catacombs. Whomever had it in their possession would have unlimited clam chowder but the catacombs were filled with death traps. Robin used an acrobat summoning ritual to summon Deadman to give them the winning edge. He had Crystallized Lazarus Resin but warned the Titans that with each respawn, their minds would get messed up. The Titans did a group huddle and decided to head into the catacombs where they were instantly killed by a spike trap. He realized it was going to be a long day. He revived them with the Lazarus Resin but they had no idea what their names were. He wanted to call if off but they still remembered they wanted clam chowder. Deadman wondered why him.
In a chamber holding a shipwreck, Robin tripped and caused a lot of things to get knocked over. The noise brought a giant lobster to them. They screamed but didn't run, despite Deadman's warnings, and were crushed by its lobster roll. Deadman revived them. They now had extremely small attention spans and ignored Deadman for a shiny rock then splashing water puddles. Deadman yelled at them to hurry up and follow him. In a snowy part of the catacombs that mimicked a Boston winter, the Titans thought the snow was attracted to their clothes so they stripped naked but froze to death. Deadman revived them. They now had no idea who Deadman was but still wanted chowder. Beast Boy asked Deadman how to walk. Deadman yelled at him to move his legs. The Titans goofily followed Deadman. At the end of the catacombs, Deadman had to revive the Titans after they went into the quicksand-like Bostom creampie filling surrounding the final leg to the First Pot of Chowda even though he warned them to avoid it.
Deadman wanted to revive them just to kill them again. He noticed their minds were almost gone. Before they could enjoy the First Pot, a hairy monster attacked them. Deadman saved them repeatedly out of fear the next respawn would reduce their minds to mush. The Titans were so foregone, they forgot how to fight or use their powers. Fed up, Deadman taunted the monster with acrobatics to make it give chase, possessed the monster, made it punch itself in the face repeatedly, and jumped into the creampie filling. Deadman left the Titans to their chowda but a large stalagmite fell on the Titans and the First Pot.
