The Azarath Public Library is a public library located in a remote snow capped mountain in the Azarath dimension. In order to gain access to the library, the eyes on a demon image on the mountainside must be pressed in the correct order: the middle left eye to generate a red color, the bottom right for yellow, the top right for green, bottom left for blue, and middle right for light blue. The top half of the mountain then folds over in half and an escalator is revealed. Soothing music not unlike that heard in an elevator on Earth is played as the visitor descends down to the library. Aside from a huge collection of books, including one about pizzamancy, there is also a children's section and a computer lab. Raven visited the library in search of the second copy of her spellbook after Beast Boy accidentally destroyed her first printing.
Beast Boy followed her to the library and was sent to wait in the children's section. He saw a book about burrito magic titled "Ole" and traded his uniform for a cloak worn by a young demon. Raven located her book but a young rotund demon wearing a scarf took it first. She chased after him, tackled him, and tried to take it away but fell backward, knocking a shelf over. Beast Boy ordered the demon to hand the book over but he refused. Beast Boy cast a spell and conjured a spicy burrito. They agreed to a trade. However, the demon burped fire and the spellbook was reduced to ash. They departed on a long and dangerous journey to seek out the Book Wizard, the writer of Raven's spellbook, and ask him to make a new one.
The other Titans convinced Raven to go along with the Sinister 16 birthday party in Azarath planned by her father Trigon. Thorpighor drove them there in a party bus. They arrived at a suburban home in Azarath. Trigon changed Raven's cloak to a pink party dress. Raven pointed out he knew she hated the color pink. Trigon switched it to purple but Raven started to growl and demanded black. He complied then they went inside. Trigon introduced them to Raven's grandma, and his mother. Nana was elated to see how much Raven had grown then asked Trigon, referring to him by his full name of "Trigontholomew," and asked about her Epsom salts. He admitted he forgot to buy some. She pointed out he could enslave an entire dimension but couldn't remember to buy Epsom salts for his mother. She presented one of her swollen feet. Russ, Lyle, and Suge happily kissed it. Trigon introduced Raven's Uncle Grim, the Grim Reaper. Robin held out his hand to shake his but Grim touched it with his index finger. The life drained out of Robin and his body fell over.
Grim laughed at his expense but got scolded by Nana. He snapped his fingers and restored Robin back to life. Trigon wanted to do the father-daughter dance but his dance moves were outdated. She refused to do it. Trigon claimed he brushed up on all the latest dance crazes like the camel walk, the funky chicken, and the stanky leg. Nana remarked he had two left hooves and didn't get that from her. Trigon quipped she wasn't helping. Raven got embarrassed and then angry. After Starfire calmed her down, Trigon cued three young demons to start the music. He tried to assure it wasn't so bad dancing with her dad. Beast Boy joined in as a turkey. Nana busted out some moves with Cyborg to Trigon's embarrassment. Starfire danced with Grim and was impressed by his talented dance moves. Robin tried to cut in and tapped Grim's shoulder. Grim once again reaped Robin. Nana pulled Starfire away and scolded Grim again. Grim growled and restored Robin back to life again. Trigon moved on to opening presents.
The first present Raven opened was the one from Grim. It was a cloak but it smelled like death and she hated it. Grim looked down at the ground sullen. Cyborg calmed Raven down, stating it was the thought that counts. Trigon gave her a present he and Nana made for her, a blanket. She shredded it. Nana recalled it took a millennium to make. Raven wanted to know why he didn't get her something cool like Pretty Pretty Pegasus. He incanted and turned one of the demon musicians into a pink pegasus. Raven got angry and reduced him to a pile of pink ash. Starfire pointed out Raven was going to soon lose control completely. Beast Boy could only think about his wish. Trigon presented the birthday cake and sang the birthday song. She wished to become all-powerful so she could destroy everyone and have whatever she wanted. Raven became a demonic behemoth and began eating demons. She even roasted Nana, Uncle Grim, and Russ, Lyle, & Suge with blue flame breath.
Robin told Trigon to shut the party down. He casually lined up a hot dog with Raven's flame breath then took a bite. He admitted the whole point of the party was to turn Raven into a spoiled monster since she was of age. Raven grabbed Trigon and ate him, too. He shouted he was proud of her as he fell into her mouth. Raven began to suck everyone and everything into her mouth. Beast Boy hung to a pole and wished they never went to the stupid party. Robin realized he could use his wish to undo everything. Robin was sucked in. Cyborg told him to forget about his bicycle and gave him his cake then he got sucked in. Starfire used her eye lasers to light the candle and implored him to save them then she was sucked in. Beast Boy used his wish to reset the timeline and undo them going to Azarath and also wished to turn Robin into the bicycle he wanted.
Raven agreed to help out at the family business, the Azarath Metrion Bookstore, for awhile. On her first day, she released three ghosts from Trigon's past from a failed autobiography. The ghost of college Tyler nearly transformed all of Azarath into a peaceful world filled with liberal arts, jam bands, and patchouli oil with his magic sack of peace as part of his agenda to spread love, peace, and unity. Raven reminded Trigon he always told her to embrace who she was and suggested he take his own advice. Trigon told Tyler he embraced him for who he was. Tyler was moved and they hugged. Trigon bear hugged him and mashed him into a hacky sack and ate him. Everything and everyone returned to normal. Trigon felt 20,000 years younger. Raven asked him how she did on her first day. Trigon noted she discovered his secret dungeon, released three ghosts, and almost destroyed all of Azarath. He was proud and hugged her.
Margaret, a famous three-headed author and top conjurer, started a new television reality series called The Great Azarathian Face Off. They invited the staff of Azarath Metrion Bookstore to be on the show. After introductions, Grr instructed them the first challenge was to make a magic potion using dragon scales, a tentacle, and bottles of chunky salsa. Trigon made a potion to turn himself into a demon dog. He didn't properly chill his tentacle ingredient and his head turned into a Chihuahua. Cat aimed to turn a spoon into pudding. Trigon disrupted Cat with a bark and she accidentally turned herself into pudding. Trigon chased her around. Raven made a potion to transform anything into what you love the most. She aimed to turn a turnip into a Pretty Pretty Pegasus. It transformed into Beast Boy instead. Raven claimed she used too much salsa. Beast Boy believed she loved him the most. Margaret found her boyfriend charming. Raven denied he was her boyfriend, turned him back into a turnip, and smashed it to pieces.
Hank made a potion that turned him back into a human but he was zapped by Trigon and returned to being a ghost. Nana turned a rat into a keyboard guitar. Margaret loved it and joined in with a cow bell. The only potion they deemed successful was Nana's. Grr explained the second challenge, the Frankenstein Round, was to use a limited list of ingredients to create life. Cat gave life to a hairball and named it Chuck. Chuck was horrified and forced himself back into her mouth. Trigon created a tiny Trigon to help him conquer the hard-to-reach places. Margaret wished he thought bigger. The tiny Trigon angrily slapped Trigon. Hank once again turned himself back to a human. He ducked Trigon's blast but he was zapped from behind by tiny Trigon and returned to a ghost. In the second round, Raven used extra weasel tongue on her potion to bring her gemstone to life. Mar found Raven's gemstone to be a breath of fresh air but when he revealed Raven was tooting in her cloak all day, they slowly backed away. They enjoyed Nana's dancing doughnut.
The tiny Trigun joined Nana's doughnut in dancing to her music. They declared Nana and Raven were headed to the final round. Grr told the others to get of their sight. Grr claimed the final round would take all the energy they could muster, push them to their limits, and have them questioning the very fabric of space and time. The challenge was to bake a cake. Nana and Raven were surprised but Mar pointed out there was nothing more delicious than a cake. They found Raven's shortcake too bitter and bland. Raven contended it was based on Robin. Nana claimed she never baked a cake before then presented a chocolate lava cake with a mascarpone frosting and cocoa ganache. Mar declared her the winner but because Nana was officially Azarath's Next Top Conjurer, they would eat her. They grabbed Nana with their tail and explained they created the show to find and destroy Azarath's best talent so they could remain the top conjurer. Raven objected. Mar deferred to Grr and he swallowed Nana whole.
Cat upchucked her living hairball Chuck into Grr's mouth. Grr couldn't hold back and spit Nana and Chuck out. He vowed they would regret that. Margaret leaped at them but only crushed Chuck. Nana fired a magic blast from her rat-turned-keyboard-guitar but Margaret deflected it with a magic shield. It hit Nana and she went flying. Trigon had Tiny Trigon spin him around then throw him. Trigon's flying punch was not a success and Margaret countered with an uppercut. Trigon landed in Tiny Trigon's open mouth. Hank drank a potion and turned into a muscular human. Margaret made his muscles implode and he was turned back into a ghost. Raven turned her Shortcake Robin into a giant. It declared it was now a pound cake. Before it could attack, its legs gave out and it fell on Margaret and crushed them. They celebrated by eating cake. Raven realized the cake was disgusting and her stomach rumbled. She grossed her gemstone out with a belch.
