The Murder Satellite is a doomsday weapon created by H.I.V.E. to destroy the planet. While stealing radioactive components from the Jump City Weapons Depot, H.I.V.E. was confronted by the Teen Titans then quickly defeated by the Team. Somehow, the villains escaped and finished their satellite. From a remote off shore location, they initiated the countdown. The President of the United States alerted the Teen Titans of the developments. The Titans, now taking heroism seriously, defeated them but failed to stop the launch. Cyborg transformed himself into a sophisticated energy cannon harness and fit himself onto Beast Boy, transformed as a Tyrannosaurus Rex. The other three jumped onboard. Together, they blew up the satellite before it could achieve orbit.
