According to legend, B.E.R. combined their magical energies to create a song filled with limitless power. It wasn't long before they feared it would fall into the hands of evil so they divided it into three separate stems and hid them across the planet. Each stem represented each member's sound: the drum, the bass, and the guitar. Generations had passed and a former member of the band, Ultralak, sought to destroy all music, including the lost stems. A resistance leader named Baxtory told the Teen Titans about the legend and implored them to find the stems before Ultralak then summon B.E.R. so they could wield the song's power and defeat the evil wizard. Baxtory gifted them a relic to track the stems, an old radio. Soon after, a man known only as Miner searched a mine for music to sell. He found some worthless crystals and tossed it aside. Just by chance, it breached a spot and revealed one of the legendary Lost Stems. It was the one of the drum. The Miner recognized it and sold it to the Sheriff. To his surprise, the Sheriff paid him a pittance, barely enough to last him through the week. The Sheriff told him times were tough. Miner grumbled they were except for him. The Sheriff invited him take it up with his boss, Ultralak.

The Teen Titans crossed paths with them and asked for help finding a song. The Sheriff advised them to leave and never come back. Miner told them the stem was being kept in the vault of Grave Rock's bank. The Titans failed to steal it and were jailed. Cyborg sought out Miner to help to also make things right and clear his name. They pursued the sheriff's train and secured the stem before it could be delivered to Ultralak for destruction. After the Titans destroyed a factory built by Ultralak to destroy songs, a grateful turtle offered them a song and retrieved it from inside his shell. It was the second stem, from the guitar. The Titans traced the signal from the last stem to a strange structure in the middle of nowhere. Robin confirmed the signal was coming from inside it. They looked at a circular gateway. Beast Boy noticed a nearby pad. Robin realized it was in the same shape as the radio. He put it in and twisted. The gears around the pad began moving and the gateway generated a portal.

They ventured inside and were teleported to a void with a simple grid pattern. The last stem was on the other side. They also noticed a meter were on their arms. As they drove to the stem, they crashed into an obstacle and were teleported back to the start. A meter vanished from their bars. They avoided the same obstacle then a wall with a narrowing passage formed. Cyborg braked and they crashed. They started over and realized it was like a game and each bar represented a life. When all bars were used up, they would die. The Titans decided to just use their powers to circumvent the obstacles but realized their powers were neutralized by the void. They tried again. Cyborg shifted the motorcycle and sidecars into single formation. They made it out of the narrow passage then an underground passage opened up. They weaved out of the way of spike obstacles then resurfaced. Two tiles rose up and became drones, firing on them. They were hit and had to start over. They tried again.

Robin and Starfire used turrets on the sidecar to blast the drones to pieces. The last obstacle, a giant gorilla, appeared and pounded the ground. They were taken out by the shockwave. After five attempts, the others wanted to just give up than risk their last life. Cyborg tried to rally them but Robin told him to admit they were beat. Cyborg realized there was a rhythm to the game and music was the key to winning. He instructed them to imagine there was nothing in their way and focus on the music calling out to them. They could see the game was vibrant with music. They made their final attempt. Cyborg trusted the music and dodged the gorilla's attacks. It chased after them but Starfire leaped from her sidecar and grabbed the stem. They were teleported back to the strange structure. The portal closed and the structure sunk into the ground. Raven deduced B.E.R. used the stem's power to sustain the void. The Titans brought the three stems together and it had an effect on the radio. A light shot out and pointed them to a mountain peak.

They discovered a temple in the image of B.E.R. and pedestals carved in the image of their instruments. They inserted the stems into each instrument and the combined energies shot up into the sky but Ultralak arrived. At first, Ultralak easily defeated the Titans. Ultralak removed the stems then combined them back into the song to the Titans' surprise. He revealed his origins to them then crushed the song. The vibrancy of the planet vanished. A maelstrom formed above Ultralak, in the sky. The power of dark silence permeated through Ultralak's body and he became even more powerful. B.E.R. suddenly arrived at the temple. Ultralak could not believe it because he thought destroying their music would be the end all. Franklin Enea declared music could never be destroyed. William Regan pleaded with Adams to stop but his words fell on deaf ears. Ultralak vowed to reshape the planet with silence and darkness. Enea reminded him the four of them created the world together. Regan stated the world was their home.

Ultralak countered it was a world where he lived like an insect when he should have been a god. He vowed everyone would either serve him or perish. Enea realized the only way to take him down was to rock. Regan summoned the song and they absorbed it, to everyone's surprise. Ultralak could not believe it. Carl Burnett repeated music could not be destroyed. They decided to "create" a new member of the team and played "You're the One" then the magical music poured into Cyborg and restored his body, as well as increased his power and size. Ultralak pinned Cyborg to a meteor and moved to drive the music out of Cyborg's body. Ultralak asked him if he had any last words. B.E.R. flew up to them in space and poured more music into Cyborg. He was restored to normal and then set off a blast wave that knocked Ultralak away. Cyborg materialized a rhythm guitar and joined B.E.R. in playing the song. They generated a blast to match Ultralak's and kept playing. Eventually, Ultralak was overpowered and was vaporized by the power of the song.
