The Light Bomb is a doomsday weapon invented by Dr. Light to destroy Jump City with. As the Teen Titans argued about who should or how to turn it off, Starfire took the initiative and flew the bomb into Earth's atmosphere. Starfire was caught in the blast wave and crashed near where the Light Bomb was placed. Robin thought she was dead and tried to profess his love for her but Starfire woke up and was interested by a stray white cat that wandered into the crater. The bomb was inexplicably kept in the Titans Tower attic. While preparing for Doomsday, the Light Bomb was among the weapons Starfire gathered.
