A more mobile version of H.I.V.E.'s Death Laser, the Death Ray was positioned atop the highest building in Jump City. H.I.V.E. terrorized the city and easily kept the police force at bay. TheY threatened to destroy the Jump City Museum unless they were paid one billion dollars. To their dismay, Robin shoved Gizmo off the Death Ray and destroyed the museum himself. The other Titans joined in and shot up the city. As Gizmo contemplated calling 911, the Titans shot them. So they could do whatever they want and have fun, the Titans became supervillains called the Legion of Doom. The Legion later returned to the Death Ray and set off their plan to take over the world - cover the Earth in a giant blanket and set off stink bombs.
