Beatbox was created when Robin and Cyborg were caught up in merging moves. A simple boom box and Robin's staff were merged, creating Beatbox. It grew arms and legs. Beatbox became best friends with another creation, Birdarang. Beatbox mainly plays music and dances along. Beatbox appeared to be the MC at the Titans' Valentine's Day party. He kept dancing even after Terra attacked the team. In the battle royale against Pain Bot, Beatbox was used to smash Raven's little demon.
Birdarang and Beatbox were surprised by everyone on their birthday. The Teen Titans left during the party to investigate a crime alert. They followed Cyborg's orders and kept the party going... for eight months. Super Robin finally recognized the distress beacon and the team suited up for a suicide mission to save the Titans. Beatbox's funk music proved a suitable distraction for the Brain's guards. The team faced the Brain but during the battle, Beatbox took a fatal blast for Birdarang. After the Brain was defeated, Cyborg restored Beatbox back to life with new batteries. Beatbox attended Starfire's wedding ceremony where she almost married a pot of vegetarian chili until Raven stopped it by being nean. Beatbox was up for sale at the Titans' garage sale. When the Titans were speaking Pig Latin to keep their conversations secret, Beatbox hung out with them by the pool.
Birdarang and Beatbox were dancing with four of the Titans in the tower when Robin suddenly appeared, dressed as Napoleon, and smashed Beatbox repeatedly with his bo staff. Robin then kicked Beatbox through the glass window into the ocean below and began a history lesson. Birdarang and Beatbox danced with the Titans when they tried the dance move called the Overbite. Beatbox supplied the music. Raven later took the duo with her to the Dance Dimension as her back up dancers to save the other Titans from the Dance Demon's servitude. Beatbox played music for Robin when he tried to communicate to the other Titans' through dance after he violated the rules of jinx and lost his voice. Once Robin ate Birdarang to circumvent his problem, Beatbox ran away.
While dancing to some gentler music, Beatbox and Birdarang were teased by two children. They switched Beatbox's tape to rap and sang about how "hard" they were. Despite the children believing them, they continued with singing. Beatbox was a boom mic operator at Justice League's Next Top Idol Star. Beatbox was a judge at a Halloween costume contest. Aside from again operating the boom mic in the Justice League's Next Top Idol Star: Justice League Edition, Beatbox also helped with Robin and Beast Boy's jazz performance and played a trumpet. Birdarang and Beatbox walked down the sidewalk with ice cream cones but they were turned to baby food by the Baby-lonians just as they took a lick and were turned into infants by the giant laser rattle. Beatbox and Birdarang danced on a fire escape around the time Robin's leg was injured entering his Titan Robot cockpit. Beatbox was a waiter for Robin and Starfire's date atop the Titans Tower. It served them a Beef Wellington.
Birdarang and Beatbox attended Beast Boy's birthday party on the Titans Tower roof. Beatbox continued to be a boom mic operator at the Justice League's Next Top Talent Idol Star: Dance Crew Edition. Birdarang and Beatbox danced in Robin's bedroom and claimed to be too busy to turn off the trash compactor before it crushed the Titans hiding from Beast Boy. Starfire and Beatbox grooved until Robin revealed their utility bill was $4000. They held each other. The Titans took Beatbox with them to the 100th anniversary party at Warner Bros. Studios. However, Beatbox wasn't on the guest list so Robin threw him in the trash.
