During a pivotal point in Batman and Robin's battle against a rampaging Clayface, Birdarang and Batarang bailed on them and drove off in the Batmobile for a night on the town to celebrate their reunion. The next day, they woke up at a miniature golf course. Birdarang speculated his memory circuit must have shorted out. He got a call from Robin who needed a small bag from the Batmobile to save Batman in the hospital. Birdarang noticed Batarang had a bracelet from the roller derby rink. They returned to the roller derby in search of a clue but Harley Quinn appeared and accused them of a crime. Unable to remember what happened that night, they denied shaving Lou, her pet hyena. She presented Lou's butt which had their names written on it with their handwriting. Harley and Lou gave chase. Birdarang threw Batarang but he missed Harley and Lou. He bounced around the ceiling and cut the scoreboard from it. It landed on Harley and Lou. They noticed Boomerang also wrote on Lou's butt.

Birdarang and Batarang went to Captain Boomerang's apartment to see if he knew where the missing Batmobile was. Instead, Boomerang answered the door mad at them for daring Captain Boomerang into stealing Commissioner Gordon's car and then getting arrested. Birdarang and Batarang left for Jump City Prison. They ended up helping with a jail break involving Captain Boomerang, Brother Blood, Bane, Cinderblock, and Catwoman. Boomerang told them he head from Joker that Daffy Duck was driving around in the Batmobile. Birdarang was too loud and robot guards recaptured the villains. They remembered they lost the Batmobile to Daffy in a game of miniature golf and challenged Daffy to double or nothing with both the Batmobile and Titans Tower at stake. Batarang lost on the final hole. In the parking lot, Birdarang quickly threw Batarang into the Batmobile and they fled with the small bag. To their dismay, Robin simply needed the Bat-Bacon-Burger in the bag to lift Batman's spirits because he hated hospital food. Robin became concerned when Birdarang hinted getting the burger came at a cost.
