A giant turtle, simply known as Turtle, lived in a crystal clear lake on a planet in the Night Begins to Shine dimension. However, Ultralak built a factory on the land near it and the lake got polluted then a thick mud infested the area. Turtle got stuck in the mud and was unable to escape. He came to believe his fate was to die in the mud. At some point, he found a Lost Stem of B.E.R.'s legendary song and kept it in his shell. The Teen Titans later arrived in search of the stem and drove to a hillstop to get a better signal to the stem. The hill turned out to be the Turtle's shell. Cyborg vowed to free him and urged the others to, despite their reluctance, because they should be willing to save any creature if they wanted to save the entire dimension from Ultralak. Using chains, they tried to drag Turtle out. Turtle told them it wouldn't work. The chains broke. Cyborg vowed they were going to free him. Turtle told him not to bother because they couldn't change the inevitable.
Raven questioned him if he was planning on just staying stuck until he died. Turtle was resigned to that fate. Cyborg declared they made their own fate and the Titans headed off to destroy the factory. The Titans released stolen songs into the lake. The act restored it and the lands back to pristine condition. Turtle was freed and to repay them, asked them if they wanted to hear a song. He went into his shell and came back out with the stem. The Titans were elated. Turtle told them it was theirs and it was the least he could do. Cyborg thanked him. Turtle admitted he was glad the fate of the dimension was in their hands.
