Pain and Regret are guardians on Memory Lane who only restrict access to memories of those who have trouble with their past. Their names are tattooed on their knuckles. As they attack, they say common platitudes related to their namesakes such as "Why, didn't you?!!", "You should have!!!" and "If only!!!" When the Teen Titans visited Memory Lane, they learned Pain and Regret were only guarding Robin's memories. Robin tried to gain entry but was beat up. Starfire advised him to come to terms with his past and face his pains. Robin declared he accepted himself for who he was. Pain and Regret vaporized.
