Three months after the Teen Titans defeated every supervillain in Jump City, Control Freak's Monster Cam smashed the Jump City Comics store front and stole the comic books and figures on display. It triggered a crime alert and brought the Teen Titans out of their break. Robin was alarmed there was no record of the monster in their database. While the others speculated on what it was, Robin couldn't shake a feeling he saw it before and accessed the archival footage. He chose Archive 5, Things Change and was horrified. He explained the monster was responsible for ending the 2003 Teen Titans show. Raven asked why that monster would do such a horrible thing. Robin revealed nobody knew and it was one of DC's greatest mysteries. The Titans agreed the original Titans deserved to be avenged. Starfire attacked it first with starbolts but the monster absorbed its properties and countered with its own starbolts, sending Starfire into a light pole. Raven conjured a fist but the monster took on Raven's powers. It teleported behind her and punched her.

Robin took a swing with his staff but it absorbed its properties and punched Robin across the city. Cyborg double kicked it into a hydrant. It took on the properties of water, turned into a puddle, and slipped into Cyborg's leg, shorting him out. The Titans took cover behind a car. On Cyborg's suggestion, Robin reviewed archival footage of the original Teen Titans in search of a way to win. He keyed on the original Robin saying they needed Beast Boy. Robin picked up Beast Boy and tossed him to the monster. Beast Boy was badly mangled. Robin speculated maybe one of Beast Boy's dumb ideas was the solution. Beast Boy suggested turning the monster into a fart. Robin thought that was the dumbest idea ever and ordered him to go for it. Cyborg held Beast Boy like a gun and fired a fart at it. They were overpowered by the smell. It ran off and the Titans gave chase.

They followed the monster to Jump City Prison and ended up at Control Freak's cell. He revealed it was his Monster Cam, a time-traveling monster cam he built so he could spy on his favorite super heroes, the original Teen Titans from 2003, whenever he wanted and continue to enjoy watching their exploits. He emphasized it was just for spying and that he would never hurt them. Starfire found it both creepy and cool and wanted to try the controller headset. Control Freak warned damaging the controller could unravel the very fabric of spacetime and erase the original Titans universe altogether. Starfire assured him she only wanted to befriend the original Starfire. Raven went next and punched Freak away. Beast Boy wanted a turn and damaged the controller. He donkey kicked Freak instead of giving the controller back. Cyborg went next and tested how fast the Monster Cam could go.

Robin took the controller and admonished the Titans for treating it like a toy. Freak agreed and demanded it back before it broke. Robin agreed to as soon as he observed the original Robin one more time. He spun into a wall and further damaged the controller. It overheated and blew up. The monster, in turn, overheated and unleashed a wave of white light that caused the very fabric of the original Titans universe to unravel. Freak realized they were responsible for ending the original run of Teen Titans all along. Robin declared all the villains of Jump City were defeated. The Titans left to resume their break while Freak cried on the floor of his cell.
