Dr. Light saw a documentary on the giant squid and learned the curious creatures were attracted to light. He built a light cannon on a barge near Titans Tower in hopes of luring a Giant Squid to the surface and using it to conquer Jump City. It worked and one surfaced under Light's barge, raising up into the air. He noticed Robin had a broken leg and taunted him. The Titans summoned their Titan Robot but Light pointed out the Giant Squid was the most resilient creature in the animal kingdom. Cyborg just so happened to upgrade the Titan Robot with a Whale Launcher. The squid became concerned. Cyborg fired a sperm whale atop Dr. Light and the squid.
