Rather than look for the evil longshoreman Carl Sanpedro, Albert Jelenic asked the Teen Titans to check if the door to his old house in Zdrelac, Croatia was open and if there was a bird inside, to ask his neighbor Blasko to take it out. He was adamant about Blasko handling it. They noticed Jelenic's door was open after all. They knocked but got no response then suddenly a red bird the size of an adult person popped out and screeched at them. They hurried to Blasko's house but saw he left a note saying he left town after a longshoreman stole his octopus salad. Starfire realized he was writing about Sanpedro. In the final battle against Sanpedro, Raven called out to resplendent Croatia for aid. The big Croatian bird flew to them and defeated Mr. Freeze before he could finish Robin off. Jelenic rode the bird off into space in the climax.
