The Joker is one of Batman's main enemies. The Joker's origins are shrouded in mystery but it is believed he dived into vat of chemicals to escape Batman. With his skin bleached and lips permanently formed into smile, he went insane and became the Clown Prince of Crime. In Robin's version of the Teen Titans' origin story, he claimed to have left Gotham City without quarrel after he helped Batman capture the Joker. Joker was a member of the Villains League Pool. Joker was seen in Jump City when Robin and Cyborg sang their Real Boy Adventure song. He was later duped into giving $100 to Cyborg, Raven, and Starfire in a pyramid scheme. Joker and Penguin were invited to Batman and Commissioner Gordon's slumber party without Alfred Pennyworth's knowledge. Some time into the night, Joker sent a text to Batman and he let them in from the Batcave's window. The Penguin fell and made a noise. They quickly hid in Batman and Gordon's sleeping bags and were undetected by Pennyworth. They later played the shaving cream prank on Gordon and laughed at his impression of Two-Face. Pennyworth caught them red-handed. Joker and Penguin met up with them on the roof of police headquarters with a giant umbrella and coffee after it started raining.

An opulent fireworks display set off by Cyborg caught the attention of Catwoman, Penguin, Joker, Poison Ivy, and Riddler. They raided the manor and looted everything. The Titans were no match for them. Robin sprang ahead of Joker and attacked with his staff. Joker parried with his bag and dodged then sprayed gas from his lapel flower onto Robin's face. Alfred Pennyworth returned to the manor and made short work of the villains. He tickled Joker with a brush then smacked his head with it. During the atomic toot apocalypse, toot mutant Mr. Freeze, Riddler, and Joker invaded the Batcave and infected Batman. One day, Joker read outside in Arkham Asylum's recreation yard. Beast Boy, Raven, Cyborg, and Starfire staged a jailbreak because they believed they were helping Robin earn his last Bat Scouts badge and satisfying their interest in fighting Batman's enemies. Joker was thrown outside by Cyborg. He sprayed his modified super soaker gun around. Cyborg pretended to power his cannons then did the Batusi dance. Joker was perplexed then got decked. Raven teleported all the villains back to Arkham.

During an Easter egg hunt to solve Robin's unfinished one, many villains were carelessly released so the Titans could search the Arkham Asylum cell for clues. Joker was one let out. The Titans searched his cell last, together. Beast Boy noticed the Joker had a lot of gloves in his drawer. Raven deduced that was what the clue was hinting at. Beast Boy casually leaned against a lever in the cell. A boxing glove shot out of the wall and knocked Robin into a false wall that crumbled and revealed a clue, "To find the egg and show your mental fitness, the answer will stare at you from where a bat does his business." They headed to Wayne Manor. Robin explained Batman was Bruce Wayne. They gasped. In one instance, Joker captured Batgirl and tied her to a slow dipping death trap. He televised her slow descent into a vat of Joker Jelly.

The Joker posed as "Prince J. Reko," a foreign prince, and scammed Starfire out of her life savings with an email offering his vast fortune in exchange for a nominal fee. Starfire fell for it and sent her money, planning to fulfill her dream of opening a store called Starfire's Scoops then living happily ever after with Reko. The other Titans broke it to her and she tore up the tower living room with her star bolts and vowed to make him regret he was ever born. Robin quickly figured out J. Reko was the Joker and he was emailing from Axis Chemicals. The Titans plotted to beat Joker at his own game. After impersonating him to get past the front gate and dispatching the henchmen with pig in the poke and financial planning scams, the Titans burst into the Joker's office. Joker was happy to see them, assuming Batman was around since Robin was. Robin declared he was present on official Teen Titans business. Joker's demeanor dropped and tried to brush them off because he was busy using the facility to fill a giant whoopee cushion with his Joker toxin.

Joker refused to return Starfire's money so the Titans tried to outscam him. Raven presented a crystal ball and told him he should stop his evil ways or terrible things awaited him in his future. Joker activated his squirt flower and doused Raven in a gush of water. Beast Boy kept a giant mallet hidden behind his back and told the Joker he dropped his wallet. Joker claimed he had it and lifted his coat back. A boxing glove shot out and punched Beast Boy. Cyborg pretended to be Joker's long lost nephew. Joker held out his hand to embrace him but he was armed with a joy buzzer. Cyborg was charred to a crisp and fell over. Robin ordered the Titans to retreat. Starfire pretended to slip on a puddle of toxic waste and wore a neck brace. Joker pointed out that was clearly an accident. Cyborg started pointing out it was an accident caused by the terrible upkeep of the facility. He punched out a ceiling light, kicked over a barrel, and pushed a henchman through a guard rail to verify his claim then declared the plant was a liability.

Joker insisted he just bought it so he didn't have time to bring it up to code yet. Starfire informed Joker he would be hearing from her lawyer. Joker became concerned as he didn't want to deal with a lawsuit and mess up all his evil schemes. They walked towards the door. Joker rushed over, shut the door, and asked them to reconsider. He would do anything to make it right. Starfire asked for her money back. He complied and threw her a stack of bills. She then asked for the deed to the plant to pay for her pain and suffering. He scoffed at the notion. Starfire took out her Titans Communicator and asked Robin what the number to their lawyer was. Joker caved and handed the deed over. Starfire then demanded his henchmen. Joker couldn't believe it and asked if she wanted his clothes next. She did and he complied. Starfire laughed nefariously and tossed her neck brace in his face. Joker realized he was scammed. Starfire deflated the giant whoopee cushion. Starfire opened her Starfire's Scoops store right outside the perimeter of Axis Chemicals and Joker was reduced to the role of janitor. As a precaution, a ball and chain was affixed to one of his legs.

Robin revealed he held a grudge against Joker's Gelato ever since he was denied a free ice cream cone on his birthday per their advertisement. The Joker couldn't resist messing with Robin at the counter. He handed him the cone but pulled it up leaving Robin with an empty cone twice then finally gave him the one with ice cream and shoved it in his face. A package left outside Axis Chemicals for the Joker was stolen by the Teen Titans. They used it to get back the new smoothie machine stolen by Porch Pirates but they were betrayed and dumped on a Stuff Mart parking lot island. Joker drove around Jump City with his clown truck and brainwashed citizens with a hypnotic jingle. On his beckoning, they committed numerous robberies and loaded up his truck. Even a pet dog stole a diamond for him. While he gloated, he failed to see the arrival of the Teen Titans and bumped into Raven's fist construct. After some music puns, Joker declared he always gets the last laugh and unleashed the music on them. They were placed in the trance, too.

Nandi and Thomas Bushell finished a recording session and saw the Teen Titans in trouble. She strummed her guitar and restored the Titans to normal. The Joker prepared to hypnotize them again but Thomas teleported in front of them and activated his noise canceling power gauntlet. The force field defended them. Nandi tried to counter attack but Joker turned the volume up to 11 and shattered the field, sending them flying. He took off. Nandi was upset but the Titans informed her the villain always got away in the opening scene to build suspense. They went to the Titans Tower to plot their next move. Raven noticed Nandi's music was the only thing that had an affect on Joker's jingle. Nandi admitted it was too powerful for her to fight on her own but she had a plan. Nandi declared they were going to stop the Joker and his misuse of music for evil by forming a super group. The Joker used the brainwashed citizens to rob Jump City Bank.

The Titans and Bushells started playing their "Jump City Rock" song with mighty instruments acquired from the Land of Rock and reverted the people to normal but Joker expelled Break Up Gas from his van. The Titans fell prey to it, the most toxic substance known to rock fans, and began infighting about have more solos, who the leader was, wanting a solo career, and wanting a girlfriend. Nandi refused to surrender and serenaded the Titans about how rock and roll was about spreading a message of joy and freedom so that people never give up hope or get brainwashed by clown trucks. The Titans came to their senses and had a group hug with the Bushells then continued their song. The Joker converted his truck into a giant mech and tried to counter their music. They prevailed and destroyed the mech with their music. Joker landed on his face. During Christmas, Joker was at the Jump City Prison when the Titans broke Santa Claus out.

Joker and Mr. Freeze attempted to escape from lock-up at Gotham City Police Department by pounding a wall with ice hammers. Gordon turned the alarm off. The villains made it outside. Freeze used his Freeze Gun to make a Freezemobile. Batman and Gordon drove a squad car out of an upper floor of the building and gave chase. Joker threw Joker-in-a-Boxes at them but Batman fired several Batarangs from his wrist gauntlet. Joker and Freeze spun out of control but Batman and Gordon suspended their chase to watch TV on a Wumboscreen. Joker and Freeze went on a rampage and took over Gotham. Joker attended the DC Invitational. While the Brain got a visit by his younger brother Brian, Joker kidnapped Robin and prepared to use a crowbar on him on live television. Joker was lured to the Easter Factory with a free tour then imprisoned and forced to lay eggs by the Easter Bunny until the Teen Titans figured out a way to get free by overloading the machines. Joker attended the Jump City Sleeve Con but it was destroyed by Bane and the Titans.

Joker and Robin were chosen at the DC Leader Swap. Joker went to lead the Teen Titans and Robin, to lead Joker's henchmen. Joker told Birdarang being picked felt like he was going to get paid to destroy more lives. Upon taking the elevator to the living room of the Titans Tower, the Titans greeted Joker with creepy grins. Beast Boy was happy to fall prey to Joker's joy buzzer. The others wanted to be electrocuted, too, but Joker took offense and stated he was not a clown for their amusement. He then declared they were all criminals from here on out. The Titans quickly agreed to it and wanted to be splashed by his lapel flower. Joker refused and went to film a confessional. He thought the Titans were joke but mused who better to rule them. Some time later, Joker tried to start a meeting and forced Starfire and Beast Boy to stop jumping on the couch then swiped a potted plant away from Raven. He realized it was a cactus and screamed in pain. He continued with presenting his plan to rob Jump City Bank but his papers were gone.

Beast Boy revealed he needed toilet paper and swiped the plans. Joker asked why he didn't just change the roll. Cyborg informed him Robin was the one who changed the rolls. He ordered them to get into the T-Car. He recorded another confessional called the Titans gross. He admitted that came from a guy who once shared a bathroom with Clayface. Outside the bank, Joker told them there were only two guards posted at the entrance and it was time to put a smile on their faces. The Titans pelted Joker with pies. They explained they were doing what he said and pointed out the two guards were laughing. Joker became angry and demonstrated what he meant, dousing the guards with his Joker gas. In another confessional, Joker declared he had it with the Titans then stormed away without his mic set. Joker entered the bank and ordered everyone to freeze and do as he said. The Titans were impressed and started barking orders, too. Raven told the people to pat their heads and rub their bellies. Starfire ordered them to flop like fish on the floor. Cyborg made them dip and slide with him.

Joker was infuriated and called the Titans wild animals and didn't believe any leader could control them nor any leader deserved such torment. He balled up on the floor. Joker was overjoyed when the police arrived. He ran outside into the back of a squad car. Joker was returned to his cell in Arkham Asylum. He felt free at last but to his horror, the Titans were strapped down and in his cell, too. They declared a group hug. Joker cried for help.

The Teen Titans preemptively broke into Axis Chemicals to capture the Joker once and for all. However, they fell down a trap door into a concrete cell. Joker emerged from the shadows laughing and joked it would cement their relationship. The Titans boasted they were funnier than him. Beast Boy demonstrated by having Joker pull his finger. Joker was aghast they called that humor and offered them a deal: if one of them could make him laugh at their comedy acts, they were free to go. If they all failed, they would be his prisoners for the rest of their lives. Legendary comedian George Wallace was also in the cell. He told them to add "beloved" to his epitaph. Wallace revealed he did stand up in Gotham City for a couple nights and was Joker's prisoner for the past three years. Raven tried roasting Joker as Elvis but he rejected her act. A giant boot booted her back to the green room. Cyborg tried prop comedy and got a giant anvil dropped on him. Starfire attempted to yodel and drew a crude face on her belly. Joker rejected her. A wreath dropped on top of her and blew up.

Beast Boy attempted to do observational comedy and talked about poop bags. Joker rejected him and a grappling hook pulled Beast Boy backstage. Robin tried using his Mini-Robin puppet at first. Joker was about to push the red button to reject his act, too, but stopped when Robin went into a bit about Batman. Robin admitted Superman and Wonder Woman had a legitimate right to be in the Justice League because they had superpowers but pointed out Batman was just a middle aged man in a latex bat costume and remarked that was useful in a fight. Joker agreed. Robin started listing off superpowers then imitated Batman telling the other heroes he built a car and a plane that looked like a bat. Joker giggled. Robin added Batman was a total bummer. Joker agreed. Robin then bemoaned his whole persona was "Look at me, I'm sad because my parents died" then accidentally revealed Batman was Bruce Wayne. Robin tried to back pedal but Joker laughed at the mistake. He told the Titans they were free to go then he departed in a hot air balloon to go pay a visit to Batman.
