Doomsday is an enemy of Superman and the Justice League. An abomination that only seeks destruction of all life in the universe, Doomsday met its defeat on Earth but managed to temporarily kill Superman. Its head is displayed in the Hall of Justice. Inexplicably, Doomsday arrived in Jump City and started wrecking havoc. Robin relished it because he saw it as the big chance for the Teen Titans to get into the big leagues and make history. Hawkman showed up and fought Doomsday. Hawkman hit him with his mace, Doomsday tried to hit him with a car but missed then used his arm to deflect a hit but Hawkman knocked him off his feet. Hawkman cracked him over the head with a street light then shoved his mace up one of his nostrils. The fight lasted for four days straight and Hawkman won.

In a discarded idea for a new Teen Titans comic in 1980, George Perez reimagined the Teen Titans as organs inside Superman. While reading outside a cafe in Jump City, Superman was attacked by Doomsday. It charged and swiped at Superman but did minimal damage. Starheart ordered all the Super Organs to be activated. Starheart accelerated Superman's heart rate. As a result, Superman punched Doomsday with a flaming fist but he countered, launching Superman into a building. Cylung increased the oxygen intake. Superman inhaled and exhaled, freezing Doomsday's left arm. He tried to finish up with a stomp but Doomsday dodged and kicked him in the appendix. Bladder Man reported the bladder levels were at full capacity. He was told to hold it. Doomsday repeatedly punched Superman in the gut. Starheart ordered an extra rush of energy. Adrenaraven triggered the adrenal gland and set energy levels to 9000 percent. Superman was enveloped in a yellow aura and spun around like a tornado landing hit after hit. Superman flew through a building and slammed into Doomsday, launching it into a store where it lay disoriented and defeated.

Doomsday decided to take a more indirect approach to his next bid to kill Superman. In anticipation of Doomsday arriving in Jump City yet again, the Titans stockpiled supplies and weapons then Robin activated the Doomsday Protocol. The Tower went into lockdown and was sealed. An electric fence rose around it. An underground hatch opened and released vicious dogs. A hatch in a tree released vicious birds. Laser turrets activated. Cyborg forgot to lock the back door and Doomsday found them in the living room. They screamed and hid behind the couch. Doomsday lifted it up. They ran into the kitchen. Doomsday followed and walked through the wall. Beast Boy and Robin argued about who would die first. Doomsday explained he wasn't going to hurt them and just wanted to be friends. Starfire asked him if he knew he was the "destroyer of the world" and Raven recalled he almost killed the Justice League. Doomsday claimed they attacked him first and he was just misunderstood. Cyborg asked why he wanted to be friends with them.

Doomsday shared his idea, if he could be friends with the only superhero team who was misunderstood, the other superheroes would let their guard down and learn to trust him. Robin refused be his friend and cited the Superhero Rules: superheroes and supervillains could not be friends. Robin declared he would just have to kill them. Doomsday became sad and revealed he couldn't go home. Superman allegedly destroyed it with heat vision. He mused he would stay at a cheap motel then started crying fire, blowing up the stove, toaster, and popping a bag of popcorn. Sticky Joe happened to be in the stove and collapsed. The other Titans took pity on him but Robin pointed out he was too big and couldn't fit in the tower. Doomsday declared he didn't fit in anywhere and pounded the floor like a crying baby. The Tower started to break apart. Robin finally caved and let him stay for a few days. Doomsday shook his hand enthusiastically, accidentally launching him through the roofs above them.

Doomsday played ring toss with the Titans outside. They took turns throwing out rings and Doomsday successfully caught the ring with one of his many spikes. He accidentally tackled Robin, who was reading Superhero Rules by the back door to the tower, while catching a ring. He realized Robin was wedged in his butt cheeks. Doomsday asked Robin if he could use his computer. Robin scoffed at the notion and noted he couldn't fit through the door. He broke the wall down. Doomsday claimed it was like that before he got there. The other Titans liked the new open concept and asked Doomsday to get rid of their walls, too. Robin became alarmed when Raven asked and tried to get him to stop because that was a load bearing wall. It was too late. The upper half of the tower collapsed. The Titans took Doomsday out for ice cream but there was a long line going outside Joker's Gelato. A boy in front of them snickered at Robin whining and looked over his shoulder. He was frightened at the sight of Doomsday and let go of his balloon. Another man spotted Doomsday and alerted everyone. They all ran away.

Doomsday tried to call out to them that he wasn't a bad guy. He was sad because he didn't even do anything wrong. Raven pointed out the just got them to the front of the line. Robin realized they could be friends after all, now that he knew he could profit from their friendship. Doomsday cleared a crowded theater room so he and the Titans could watch a Death Toilet movie. He picked up a police officer by the head and roared. He tore up the Titans' parking ticket. He roared and all the fish in the lake jumped into the Titans' boat. Robin tried to finish a house of cards but it collapsed. He roared. It stood back up. Cyborg tried to make a withdrawal at an ATM but he had no money. He roared. The machine spit out a ton of money. Raven noticed a flier Superman put up asking for tips on Doomsday's whereabouts. Doomsday and the Titans tried to figure out how to show Superman that Doomsday was a good person. Doomsday got an idea. Superman was invited to Doomsday's party in the park. Just after Doomsday "tried out" the bouncy castle and flattened it, Superman did his serious hero landing.

On the Teen Titans' urging, Doomsday greeted Superman and thanked him for coming then offered a slice of ice-cream cake. Superman destroyed it with heat vision and slapped it away. Doomsday had another idea and took out a club. Superman was about to use heat vision again but Robin informed him it was for the pinata. Superman cautiously took it and went first. Even after it broke, he continued clubbing it on the ground. Superman played pin the tail on the donkey next. Doomsday spun him around. He pinned the tail on Robin's head. Superman and Doomsday danced to some music from a boombox. Doomsday tried offering him cake again. This time, he ate it. The Titans were pleased Superman was finally trusting Doomsday and seeing he wasn't such a bad guy. Superman started to choke and gag. Doomsday revealed there was cookies and Kryptonite in the cake. Superman puked, choked, coughed, then collapsed. Doomsday thanked the Titans for helping him destroy Superman then took off. Cyborg, Beast Boy, Starfire, and Raven realized they were duped and were accomplices to the assassination of Superman. Robin was left alone. He apologized to Superman then took off.

During Christmas, Doomsday was at the Jump City Prison when the Titans broke Santa Claus out.
