Jonathan and Martha Kent are residents of Smallville, Kansas, and lived on the Kent family farm for most of their lives. Unfortunately, they couldn't have children. On one fateful night, the couple witnessed something fall from the sky. Martha found a baby in a rocket ship and the Kent's decided to adopt him. He was named Clark, after Martha's maiden name. They did their best to raise the boy and instill him with a high sense of morality. When Clark was in his teens and began displaying super powers, the Kent's realized it was time to show him his pod and the truth. Clark eventually accepted it and became the superhero known as Superman. At times, Superman would return home to and often seek out the counsel of his parents. When even Smallville began to cheer the actions of the Elite, Pa Kent assured his son he still needed to be there to lead the people once they wisened up to the truth of things.
