At an unspecified time, a promiscuous Puerto Rican woman named Pamela was bonded to an alien warrior cache called symbeasts. Wearing them like armor, Pam could use the parasites as weapons, form them into any shape she desired such as claws or wings, and command them to act independently on a target. As an extreme, the parasites can excrete an acidic substance that literally cuts through almost anything. As Menagerie, she worked in the intelligence field until she abandoned her duties and joined the Elite. In a showdown with Superman, Menagerie was poisoned and rendered unconscious. As a result, the symbeasts were forced to abandon her body. Pamela was then sent to a supermax prison.
