Hiro Okamura is a child prodigy who builds amazing and advanced feats of technology based on his love of managa comics and anime shows. With an I.Q. of 210, Toyman is one the world's smartest individuals. He resides in his family's company headquarters and engineers things according to his whimsy, rocket packs, robots, and special goggles. He initially debuted as Toyman to target Metallo, whom was allegedly built with stolen Plastex that Okamura's grandfather originally created.
After the world turned on Batman and Superman, they found an ally in Okamura. He finished a giant Composite Batman-Superman robot he built when he was seven, the size of a space shuttle, in order to destroy the Kryptonite meteor nearing Earth. There was an extra option that it could be operated by someone. Toyman childishly tested his X-Ray Goggles on Powergirl and was lucky to survive. However, he had to scrap the prototype and rebuild it a second one. Lex Luthor crashed Toyman's compound and sabotaged the launch. Batman managed to launch the rocket manually and Toyman alerted Superman that there was slight chance he survived.
